E-safety or online safety as it also referred to is the need to educate children and young people about the benefits, risks and responsibilities of using information technology. In an ever increasing technological world, it is becoming more of an important issues and here at Westbrook Lane we place great importance on this.

Our curriculum covers online safety across the school reflecting how children’s interests and use of technology changes as they grow older. A summary of this can be viewed from the link below.

As technologies continue to develop and children’s online behaviour changes it can often be hard for parents to keep up. In November, we had an information session for parents and the presentation from this can be viewed by clicking below.

If you would like any further information regarding e-safety then please speak to Mr Hooson.

In addition to our workshop information posted above, we would like to recommend the following useful e-safety websites for children and parents. These websites have a range of resources to aid you in discussing internet safety with your children. The PDF file below will provide you with a series of links for some age appropriate E-safety resources that we use in school. Should you choose to use them with your children it is advisable to read or watch any of the resources first so you can consider the types of question your child/children may ask.
